WEIGHT LOSS/MANAGEMENT Both physical activity and nutrition play a role in attaining optimal weight and overall health. I take a lifestyle approach that includes three components: nutrition, physical activity and behavior change. My goal is for my clients to establish new habits that are both healthy and sustainable.
Nutrition: My approach is moderation and recommendations are based on scientific evidence. There are no bad or forbidden foods. All foods are allowed. But this does not mean you can eat as much of anything you want. Portion size is important , and I will emphasize nutrient dense foods and discuss ways to increase your energy availability. You will learn the best times to eat, and which foods curb your appetite. I will provide meals plans if necessary and personally designed them to meet your individual nutritional requirement, and also to maximize loss of body fat and minimize losses of lean body mass and muscle.
Physical Activity: All clients are encouraged to get exercise daily. I can assist you with finding an activity to enjoy that will enhance goals of maintaining or increasing lean muscle mass .
Behavior change :Change is not easy. Emotions and food can get very mixed up. My goal is to foster a healthy relationship with food.
Athletes are unique. They spend enormous amounts of time practicing, conditioning and drilling. Frequently, they overlook nutrition. Athletes need an eating strategy to support their training, assure proper hydration, and reduce recovery time. My goal is to provide athletes with factual, practical, and evidence-based sport nutrition strategies to optimize their overall health and performance.
